![]() If I can assist you further, please let me know, it would be my pleasure,Ĭheck out the Fireside for a nice dinner while you sit next to the fireplace. This may not work in to your time line this visit but wanted to mention just the same. The Lighthouse Route continues on for quite some distance further and it is my opinion that the most dramatic of coastlnes is firther down, beautiful wide white sand beaches, coves, inlets, etc. These towns are quite active this time of year with lots of winter celebrations, esp Mahone Bay, Of course the coastal route takes longer but actually your furthest point Lunenburg is really only 1 full hour from Halifax via the faster 103 Hwy, Perhaps if you like this sort of thing, a B&B or Inn, even a chalet or cottage with fireplace are abundant down this way for a nights stay. I am going to suggest Nova Scotia's Lighthouse Route, Peggy's Cove is very nice in winter and then I suggest continuing along the coast through St Margarets Bay, Aspatogan Peninsula, the New England type small towns and villages of Chester, Mahone Bay and Unesco World Heritage Site town of Lunenburg. Your 4 days would not be complete without a day trip to some nearby location. You didn't mention an accommodation preference but do know downtown Halifax has most of the well known chain hotels, many with harbour views and also some great boutique hotels and inns that are charming, well located, historical and architecturally delighful in character with Halifax's long seafaring history, if you're interested I would be glad to comment on a few choices. I agree Halifax is where you would want to be considering the content of your post. You would want to stay overnight in either Lunenburg or Wolfville. Here is a sample of the route you could take. This is also the centre of a wine growing area with many wineries you could visit. The latter is a university town and most places should be open all year. If you wish you could also go to Wolfville. If you are renting a car I would suggest taking at least a day to drive to Peggy's Cove and then to Lunenburg. Feel free to post here again with more specific questions. If you do a search on this forum you should find lots of ideas for where to stay and eat. If you stay in downtown Halifax you can walk to many shops and restaurants. In the sparsely populated areas in the province some places are only open in the summer.įrom what you say you should find plenty to see and do in the Halifax area. You will find that places in major centres such as Halifax will be open. That's great you are coming to Nova Scotia.
